JIMMY TRAN, AKA MRTINYJAM

Jimmy Tran, aka MrTinyJam, was born at a young age and began playing rock drum set in elementary school. As a budding drummer, Jimmy developed his technique and unique musical style by playing with the best…. records, learning all the classic and most influential beats at the time. During his teenage years, he was already making a name for himself as … Jimmy… but more importantly a go-to drummer for top 40 gigs. In college, he was introduced to Jazz music by composer Tom Kubis and later expanded his musical repertoire by studying Latin music with Chuck Silverman.
After graduating Cal State Fullerton with a degree in composition, Jimmy toured the world and recorded with various indie bands. He is currently playing with Hawaiian sensation Tini Grey, Former contender on the “The Voice”.
Jimmy is always experimenting with ideas of a hybrid drum set and percussion which was featured in April 2018 Modern Drummer Magazine and spring of 2019.
